Heritage based tourism is now worth £26.4bn to the UK economy, offering digital SMEs significant new commercial market opportunities, engagement with new audiences and the ability to develop projects that can attract further investment.

On 9th July 2014, Cluster 2020 will launch the Innovation Lab, an interactive workshop where digital SMEs come face to face with some of the West Midlands’ leading culture and heritage organisations; Birmingham Museums Trust, The Library of Birmingham and The Hive.

In partnership with Innovation Birmingham, the lab will be an opportunity for SMEs to understand the challenges facing heritage and tourism organisations, giving them the chance to explore the innovation process and the journey that organisations must take in order to develop an idea through collaboration.

This is a unique opportunity for creative and digital media companies to be involved at the start of what will be a transformative innovation journey for the heritage sector.

Businesses attending the event will:

  • have face-to-face time with leading heritage organisations
  • collaborate with heritage organisations to kick start the innovation process
  • gain valuable insights into the heritage, tourism and leisure sectors

For more information and to book your FREE space visit our eventbrite page The event takes place at the Heritage Hub, Birmingham University, West Midlands, UK.
